A Living Magazine - Tap Root: Day 70 - Some Old House

On the day that I freed the frog from the snake, I noticed reflections under the rocks. Over the last few weeks I have dug up quite a few interesting things from that area, including old bottles, old tins, plates.

I thought I'd share what I've found so far...

The pint milk bottle in the back is in very good condition.
And, it was made in Maine...

These are old tobacco tins.

Other tins and cans, with the back oil can being the only metal object I found with color...

Other interesting objects.

I thought this looked like part of a band saw wheel.
But I have no idea what it was.

Looks like parts to an old brake system.

Extra glass to sort through.

Old oil can, I think?

Embossed one quart milk bottle tops.

Pieces of an old china plate.

Above is a tea cup. Below is what used to be a very nice drinking glass.
Notice the purple tinge. This is common for old glass containing manganese and exposed
to ultraviolet light. Interestingly, the reason behind this phenomenon is not fully understood.

What used to be a rather nice hand-painted serving dish.

Proof that at least one of the milk bottles was produced for a Farmington dairy.

This is an old whiskey bottle. All I could make out were the words "Imported Brand."

This bottle was gone, but kept its cap.

I will keep the excavation going in my free time and post any other objects I find. I'm happy to receive any comments you might have about these old items!
