A Living Magazine - Day 260 - Homecoming - Hillsborough: Bored Wallk

As sometimes still happens, I woke forgetting where I was. All I see is the inside of the tent each morning. I also often forget what orientation the tent is facing. I have slept close to roadways so frequently lately that not hearing traffic feels unusual. I eventually remembered the appearance of the town I'd walked through the day before, but couldn't remember the name! Finally, after opening the tent flap, I remembered: Hillsborough...

I had writing to do on this day. So, I packed up and went to the library to work. It wasn't a boring day for me, but there isn't much else to say about it for you.

I was very hungry, besides the Slim Jims and chicken sandwich I had nothing else. I had no money left except for coffee, and would eat nothing on this day. Part of what I wrote had to do with being hungry and never having the security of knowing when I would have money. It was a frustrating day and I was not a happy camper. I felt that all I ever did was work and live uncomfortably...for nothing. Of course this isn't true. But that is what happens to me when I am food insecure. I get angry and very sensitive about what I'm doing. It probably is a good thing that no one I know is around during these days of being without any food. I wouldn't be very good company.

At the end of the day I went back to the sleep spot by the Holiday Inn, set up my tent and went to bed hungry. That's pretty much it. I could not leave town with no resources, so I went through the night hoping that some kind of donation would come in. And it did...

I've been decorating the outside of the tent.
