Some shots from yesterday...
The Armory in South Portland being turned into an Irving station.
How the mighty have fallen.
The walker's ramp onto the Casco Bay Bridge.
Pathway along the Casco Bay Bridge.
My last lunch.
Sesame seed, malt, peanut bread.
I decided to take a lot of shots around the State and Pleasant streets area...
These flowers made this tree look like it was covered in snow.
Love this building.
Hard to believe these two features are connected to the same house.
St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Doesn't seem to stick out like the State Street Church.
Much better shots of the State Street Church...
Part of the State Street Church.
More architecture along State Street...
Portland Magazine building.
When I turned right onto Congress I saw a place I'd wanted to highlight earlier. It is a magnificent space for lease. Check out the stats online here...
Rear of property.
Side of property.
I really would love to lease this spot and put in a cultural center for artists, musicians, business people, a cafe with light fare. Ahhhh.... To dream. It would be $5,600 per month.
I kept walking...
I used to lease the office right where this window is on the second floor.
Down High Street.
Starbucks.
Panoramas of the Congress Square area.
Across from Starbucks in this building, which seemed more historical with a tourist fire truck in front of it...
I made my way back to South Portland just in time to see a beautiful sunset...
At night I worked online until I got tired. Buddy has been hanging out with me. He eats as often as I'll feed him. What he's been doing lately is drinking a LOT of water. When he gets done eating he drools pretty severely. And, sometimes there is blood. But, he hasn't lost his appetite yet. I brush and comb him every night, wipe off his face and spend time with him...
A sleepy Buddy cat.
Personally, I'm not doing very well myself. Getting food has become a tricky thing. I'd saved up about $5 in change, which has gotten me through the day, after returning some bottles and cans. I plan to stop by the Asia restaurant's trash can tonight in South Portland. It can be a great place to find people's leftovers and doggy bags. Or, it used to be--worth a try.
Food insecurity sucks bad. Remember this as you enjoy your 4th of July cookout tomorrow. A portion of people in Portland will have nothing to eat tomorrow (myself included). Still it should be a bright day, good for pictures and videos. Hope you enjoy your day off!
