A Living Magazine - Day 83 - Last Days in West

I slept in until 8:00 am. A jogger passed by, but was oblivious to everything around her, including her dog. Instead of walking straight out, I decided to explore around this side of the bridge, up two columns from where my sleeping spot is. I noticed a flowered sheet hanging up, along with another blanket. Inside this little camping area seemed to be a laundry line, complete with women's bloomers and socks. I took my pictures and then moved on, yet I don't think anyone was there...

Paint by number and water paintings.

This graffiti had one recurring theme...ACID. For some interesting information on graffiti: Click Here. I'd discovered some of the most elaborate tags yet...

Surrounding area.

I passed this many times, and wanted a photo.

On Riverside Street.

"Proud as a Peacock."

I turned right onto Monroe and walked past the Spokesman-Review Newspaper building and saw this fine set of honorable busts...

I worked at the library for awhile, but just couldn't concentrate. I seem to be having a harder time just being indoors. If I'm inside too long, sometimes I get a bit stir crazy and need to take a walk, it is king of habitual. Good thing I do it for a living.

I decided that would be a good day to head up to Division Street and get my favorite lunch deal at the Pizza Pipeline: three slices of pepperoni pizza and a drink, for $5.00 even. It was a beautiful day and everyone was out making use of Spokane's many natural resources...

I'd never seen this boardwalk before. It appears to go way up the river.

The Pizza Pipeline is about eight blocks north of Main Street. I could have taken a bus, but decided to walk it. A walk well worth taking...

Great, thin herbal crust, oiled up, with a medium amount of
sauce, provolone cheese and plenty of pepperoni's!

When walking back through the park I decided to head over the Howard Street Bridge...

I like this sky blue bridge. It was build in 1916 nearly 100 years ago.

Along Main Street I saw a Paula Poundstone poster at the Bing Crosby Theater. I really like her, and used to listen to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me every Saturday morning on MPBN in Maine, just to hear her...

I went back to the library and transferred all my pictures, but I just couldn't do any composition. I wasn't in the mood for it, and there was very little new stuff to add to my time here. I will say, in all fairness, that some very interesting personal things have happened here in Spokane that I haven't written about, but may at some point.

I decided to head back to the sleeping spot very early this time--around 4:30 pm. I usually pass this tree at night. It grows right next to the big brown church on Fourth Street. I later found out it is a dogwood tree (Cornus kousa)...

It was really nice being back during the evening, before sundown. I'd worn my blue button down shirt all day and it was a bit sweaty, so I let it dry and made up a sitting space. I worked on the laptop just doing fun things, like some CAD design and watched the sun go down...

I got sleepy early and fell asleep around 9:30. I'm not sure why I can sleep so well lately? I must feel relaxed here. I am still saving up for the train ticket to Minneapolis, but it is kind of a vicious circle; I need to eat each day, etc, so savings comes and goes. I'm sure it will all work out, and I am going to try to enjoy my last days in the West as much as I can.
