A Living Magazine - Day 86 - Spokane Videos and the New Nest

This time when I woke up, there was a guy walking his dog. I heard the leash clinking, and him talking on his cellphone. I got up and began to stuff the sleeping bag into the pack when he appeared, walking by the bridge column. We nodded to each other. It was no big deal, but I still didn't like people walking through my "bedroom". I was determined to move to the new location this coming night. This would be my last night in the second spot.

I walked over to the new spot and found a rock that I could use as a land mark for finding it...

I had $10.00. there wasn't much that I would be doing this day. I was behind on my blog posts, but I'd found that most of the picture worthy things in the parts of town where I usually hang out had been captured already. So, I worked on several essays that have been developing. They weren't yet ready for publishing, but I did get quite a bit done.

I also wanted to begin publishing some of the many videos that I haven't posted yet from my time here in Spokane.

Just to let the reader know, these are not very well produced. My camera is punky with video and gets easily jarred. Plus, the microphone is shot and severely distorts loud sounds. I apologize for this. I hope (as it eternally springs) to get a big boy camera at some point. I filled in the crappy sounding music of bands that I videoed with WAV files of their songs, but it doesn't match the video. I just wanted people to see the band on stage and hear their music as it was, even if the two (video and audio) are not from the same songs. to hear complete, high quality audio files of the bands shown in these videos, just click the Day number and you will find song samples on the associated posts.

Here are the first four shorts...

VIDEO FROM DAY 74

Geese, the great guitarist (sorry it is distorted--but
it kind of sounds cool) and the Sky Ride.

VIDEO FROM DAY 75

A walk along the creek cliff, more geese, sound check at the
Clocktower Stage (sorry, no sound, it was way too distorted),
and bagpipes with a Highlands dancer.

VIDEO FROM DAY 76

The Olson Brothers Band, Junior Brown, and the walk back to the creek.

VIDEO FROM DAY 77

A street preacher, the amazing Randy Hansen (and the
New Experience band), Big Brother (Janis Joplin's
original band--sorry for the distortion), and ducks.

Once again, I returned to the creek early. I got to work excavating rocks out of the "bed" area, then erected my first attempt at the rain tarp. It wasn't due to rain for two more days, but I wanted to experiment. I tied the tarp up high in a gable style--with an overhang on each side. It wasn't bad, but the sleeping area wasn't completely blocked from potential rain. I'd have to work on it more the next day. Unfortunately it was too dark to take any pictures. That would have to wait until the next morning.

I slept in it anyway, falling asleep easily and getting a full night's rest.
